The Advanced Seminar is intended for professional who have one or more years experience implementing Section 504 and who have had professional development on Section 504 basics.

Beginning with a review of Section 504 basics seminar participants learn through active participation.  Participants in the Advanced Critical Issues Seminar will learn about strategies for dealing with difficult people and creating a structure for Section 504 placement meetings. Recognizing that preparation is essential to making sound decisions, participants actively engage in case studies while applying eligibility criteria.  The application of the “equal opportunity” standard is utilized to analyze the appropriateness of accommodations.

Workshop participants receive a two volume professional development manual that includes case study scenarios, case study outcomes, articles published by the presenter and the Section 504 regulations. A certificate of attendance is provided.
